I flew American when I went to Texas; now I read where they are going to start charging for checked baggage. Guess I at least lucked out on that one!

What for? I instructed for a short time out at Van Nuys airport back in 1997. SoCal is heavily populated airspace for sure. I remember flying a Cherokee around there being a target for a new ground-air tracking radar system. Some company were testing it out and wanted us as to be their target practice plane

I rang the Brit Embassy earlier for JK..I can tell you something, they really have great customer service. Everytime I have ever called them, they are ever so friendly, sympathetic and a real sense of feeling taken care of personally after talking to them.

Wish USCIS was like that.

Good news, can get passport within 3 days from DC, but unfortunately they can't pay for him to get back. But they will help out as much as they can and now they have his details in system, they can help process things quicker.

Basically unless for extreme cases, they usually do the calling for you, call family and friends both here and the UK to see who could fund the money for him. I can understand that.
At least they care and will do whatever they can for someone, which is a good thing.

He is now closer to getting home

Basically for the hell of it. Been a few weeks since I was up and didn't want to get rusty. Flew out of Gilespe KSEE.

That was what I was in, a Warrior to be exact. It was actually quiet. Not a lot going on in the San Diego East county airspace.
