I remember Halloween was not allowed to be celebrated when my son last went to school there, and his school had to celebrate Eid, Diwali and other special days for other religions/cultures. It was educational but at same time it did cause a stir.
Looks like we're not the only ones traversing the slippery slope of
offense being the greatest crime. That e-mail had some truth to it. There was one school that did drop the curriculum.
What I don't understand is who gives a **** if it goes against someone's religious belief. History is history. Religion is just that. And just because someone doesn't like hearing the truth they cave in? This is a good example of why we need some nativism. The idea should be, if you don't like it here, leave! You surely would not get any consideration for things you find offensive in their country. Oh no, if you did, off with your head.
I would have celebrated Halloween anyhow. Screw em. Dress up as a pig from the slaughter house. I bet if it were tried the majority of the town would have gone along with it. At least the nativist natives.
Offended!, its an offense these people are trying to change what has stood the test of time. And for what purpose? Something civil or positive? Oh no it is not. And anyone affected by it knows what is really going on.
end of rant.
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.
