We went to Fort Worth Friday night for barbecue - yummy. They had karaoke, but I opted out of that one - lol! Then, Saturday we spend most of the morning lost - driving around the Dallas area. Luckily I have GPS on my phone - it saved us many times over the weekend! Then Saturday afternoon was the wedding and reception - very, very nice!!! Bride and Groom looked as happy as clams. You know what we did Saturday night - lol! Sunday, we had brunch with a bunch of folks at the Cotton Patch. We don't have them here, so I took full advantage of southern cooking - country fried stead and fried okra - lol!!!

All in all, a great time! Smile

LOL Yes it is easy to get lost in Dallas..and so much traffic, tends to make you disorientated if you are not used to the area.

At least they have the Hub lanes.

Yep they have some good food in Tx, big portions too lol
I like Okra..yummy Smile

Sounds like you did quite a bit in a short time. Lots to see around Dallas and lots to do..but at least you ventured out Smile

First time I ever went to Dallas, my husband took us to H ooters..can you believe that of all places! lol
As you can imagine, my son probably aged 6 I think he was, had something else for a change to look at instead of his food LOL

When I go, I usually stay in Addison, off Beltline Road I think it is, easy access to everything, Toll road straight to Downtown etc
And of course, walking distance to British Pub for a good beer lol Smile

My son is off to Dallas this summer, he loves it there, and of course away from his mum lol
He gets spoilt.

I think hubby got us lost on purpose - lol! He likes to venture out and then doesn't want to listen when I tell him he's going the wrong way. He even challenged the GPS lady a few times - lol! But, it was fun.

We stayed in Arlington - ever been there? We were in a hotel off Cooper Street. There was a mall right across the highway (hubby kept me away from there - lol). Going to the reception, we were on Collins Street and rode past the new Cowboys stadium. Quite awesome - can't wait for my Redskins to whoop their behinds the first time they meet there - lol!

Oh, so you will be a temporary empty nester this summer. Lol! My nest is currently empty, but once my son graduates college, that will change. Back to cooking, cleaning and being a mom - lol! I better enjoy this while I can - lol!!!

Yes I know Arlington, nice area. I think that is where Sixflags is too?
Yes I have been to that mall...lol at keeping you away!

Not seen the completed Cowboys stadium as of yet. LOL Not sure if Redskins will beat them on home turf...but would be interesting lol

When my friend came over few months ago, we changed the GPS system to the voice to John Cleese, he was so funny. He makes funny jokes in between or says things like...ok you are now at your destination...now run along..I'm not carrying your bags for you LOL

There were many gags, made it interesting instead of the robot type directions lol

Last time I went to Dallas we went up the Reunion Tower there in Downtown. You must have seen it, it is that tower with a big ball on top of it.

On top of it there is a restaurant..very very good food but really really expensive!
The restaurant rotates around, so you get to see the skyline of Dallas while you eat.
WHen we first went to eat there, we were told we were not dressed well enough (lol) so we had to go back to hotel and put our glam rags on. Very strict they were.
A good evening, but not going there again, tooooo expensive.

Well, we passed Six Flags on i360 coming from the airport. There is a road called Abram - right past Six Flags - Cowboys (the place with the bull) is on that road. I spotted it immediately. I told hubby - that's the place - lol!

The Cowboys new stadium is not complete. It is still work in progress, but it was pretty neat seeing what's been done so far. And yes, my Redskins CAN beat the Cowboys in that new stadium - lol! I wonder when it will be ready. Hudson, are you here? It looks like it could be ready in time for their season opener.
