Stinky Dog remedy after wet: GET NEW DOG!
Ants: Buy Outside ant spay and spray around Outside of House. around house where Ground meets House. Lasts a month.

She said to use diluted vinegar, they hate it. Also they stay away from pepper according to my friend. (old lady full of old fashion remedies) lol
I just called my pest control to book an appointment to get rid of all my pests and I asked them about how to get rid of ants. They gave me a list of things but couldn't remember them all (lol), except ants stay well away from Mint. If you plant mint in the areas they tend to be, they will stay clear.If you have anything mint where you can rub in areas inside would be good too. They also said cinnamon and chilli pepper is really good. All these scents they can't stand and go away from. We all have those in the cupboard, so its cheaper and eco friendly She also said that temporary until you fill in where they are coming through you could put vaseline down. Weird lol Apparently they don't like crossing sticky, slimy stuff.
Well there is a bunch of info there for you, and I think I will be much better prepared for myself next time too lol
Now for those mice! Found some droppings in my vent duct behind filter. No idea how they got into there. I need a cat lol

Thanks, Sprint! I went online a while ago and searched for some things to put down. I saw some of the ideas you gave out there. One place said to put down baby powder. I had some of that around the house, so I sprinkled it on my window sills in the kitchen (a suspected entry point). I also sprinkled some around the back edge of the counter top (that really looks like hell!) I saw one ant crawl right through it, so I have my doubts on this theory. So far, I've used ant traps, ant spray and baby powder. The vinegar, pepper and mint solutions might be next - lol! Wonder if a combination of all would drive the little buggers away for good!!!!
Now, about those mice. If you can't trap them, I would suggest Decon. I hate to say that because I don't like killing anything, but you can't have mice running around the house either. They can be quite destructive (and leave little nasty surprises for you all over the place). If you use Decon, the mice will go out of your house to find something to drink, so they won't die in your house. At least that's what the person at Home Depot told me when I had a problem.
Don't we have enough to do without worrying about insect and rodent problems??? LOL!!!

I have those pesky little black ants. I didn't buy the cucumbers yet - thought I'd try the baby powder first. I think my ants would like cucumber peels. I found them in my dog's food dish, so they don't seem very picky - lol! At least I found them before the dog did - lol!!! Poor puppy doesn't need any more trauma after getting all wet yesterday.
I can't spray outside my house with harmful repellents because the dog goes out in the yard. So, I have to keep that in mind at all times.
I love the smell of baby powder, but messy, kind of like flour..gets everywhere! lol
When pest control guy comes out, he said he would have a look regarding the mice and see what he can do, as friendly as possible, but he said it is very hard to get rid of field mice once they invade the house. Getting in vent system is not good he said, could cause all sorts of problems. ahhh Oh well..I'll leave it up to him.

The smell is nice, but the kitchen counter looks like I baked some pies and forgot to wipe after myself - lol! If it works, so be it. I'll have messy countertops for awhile. I hope your pest control guy can clear those mice out for you! Sometimes they leave on their own when the weather warms. Anyway, good luck with that Sprint!
