Hello Everyone:

I am starting this thread to get the community's input. I noticed that several folks here mentioned immigrate2us.net as an example of a good immigration board. In order to help us make a feature set for the new board technology that we would like to get later this year, may I ask community members to kindly list on this thread the names and urls of good boards, especially immigration boards? When you do so, please also explain why you feel that the particular board(s) you list is/are good. I will look at the boards referred to, and see what we can learn from them. Also, please bear in mind that many of the things we learn may not be possible to implement until we upgrade to a new technology platform in 2008 (so dont get your hopes up unless you are willing to be patient!). I hope that members of the community will help educate me about the good boards out there and what lessons they hold for our community here. Thanks!

Hi Sam,

Thank you for inviting our input. One feature I would like to have is the ability to upload files and graphics from our pcs. Currently, and correct me if I'm wrong, we can only copy and paste from the internet. It would be great if we could share files and pictures that we have already collected and are stored on our hard drives. There are many forums out there that allow this option.

I really like the idea of a chat room, and of course many members has mentioned about the two headings, one for Questions and one for Articles/Debates.

chat room will be really good .. and it's alot faster actually,, bcoz i mess some posts sometimes while iam typing ,, i think this will be really good to have

I think Hudson or someone mentioned this too sometime ago, is it possible to have some sort of notification that we have received a private message?
A message can sit there for a long while unless you go and check, and if you are new or not expecting a message, well how would you know you have one, unless of course you check your emails regularly.
My email addy for this forum is not my main one, so I don't check as often.
Maybe an inbox like other websites, or a syllabol or some sort on top?

And what about a picture of you under your name? lol ;-)

Sprint.. at the top of the page where the tabs are, if you have a new PM (private message)a tab will come up, flashing that you have a new PM
