I discussed this with two of my sons who know more about Kanye West than I, they confirmed he hates white people. So, I now believe racism was involved and he should be banned from future attendance at these awards. Nothing but a trouble-maker!!!!

There's not one thing similar to the situation. Kanye West's antics weren't about politics, but race. He was angry a white woman got the award over a back woman. I applaud Beyonce for putting herself above this and getting Taylor Swift back on the stage to finish her speech. And, I hope Kanye's career goes in a sink hole after this!! What a loser.

President Barack Obama called hip-hop musician Kanye West a "jackass" on Monday in an off-the-record comment during an interview with CNBC, an ABC News anchor reported on Twitter.
Obama was apparently weighing in on an interruption that occurred the night before during the MTV Video Music Awards where West grabbed the microphone from teen country singer Taylor Swift during her award acceptance speech to announce his belief that Beyonce had a better music video.
"Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential," "Nightline" co-anchor Terry Moran wrote Monday evening to his more than 1 million followers.
The tweet forced the network to issue an apology after the Internet quickly became abuzz over the stunning remark published on the microblogging site.
An ABC spokesperson said, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview," Politico reported. "This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."
Moran's tweet has since been deleted, but can still be accessed.
West, who is no stranger to controversy, apologized for the incident after Sunday night's MTV broadcast and again Monday night during an interview on the premiere of NBC's "Jay Leno Show."
West told Leno he's going to take some time off to reflect and that "it was rude, period."
"I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve. If there's anything I could do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I'd like to," he said.
The White House had no immediate comment on the matter, Politico reported.

Yup, I guess their acts are pretty close in comparison. There is one difference, though. I don't think Joe Wilson did it to be in the limelight, while Kanye West did. He has pulled this c.rap too many years in a row for it to be an 'accident'. But, nevertheless, both were disrespectful.

Huge difference. Obama has outspent Bush 10 to 1. 10 trillion in obligations so far, not including this health care fiasco. What's interesting to note is we had a surplus prior to 9-11. That tilted the scales. However, the current trend will create obligations far beyond anything done in any prior administration or economic downturn. See this or this

Brit, you know that was a purely political move. Big deal, he said, you lie. How about the lies told by Barney Freak that the housing market was fine and nothing needed done a couple years back? Now we have umpteen millions with no place to call home. I think their plight is little more significant than some mediocre outburst.

Could you imagine the outcry had it been a black singer getting the award and a white man jumping up there saying the same sort of rubbish? Obama would be side by side with jessie jackson demanding he be crucified. All we get is an offhanded semi-laughed at comment in some tweeter or blog post when it's a white women being racially ridiculed in a public forum. Makes you wonder, doesn't it. Hmmmm. I wonder if this is in violation of Wilson's 1st Amendment rights? Not saying what he did was right, but he had the right to say it, correct???
He had the right to say it as it not being a crime to say it, but he did disturb the session. One cannot go into a court room and shout either - I think.
