i'm due my citizienship in dec 2007 and i'm appying for naturalization on the basis of marriage and as i was going throught the checklist and i have a question which says:
applying for naturalization on the basis of marriage to a US citizen, send the follow four items:
documents referring to you and your spouse: -- tax returns, bank accounts, lease, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or -- irs certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or -- an irs tax return script for the last three years.
The USCIS requires you to establish that your current marriage is still valid to give you the benefit of applying for naturalization within the shorter timeline, instead of the normal five years. So the more documentation that you can provide to prove this fact, the better. You can even go beyond what's listed. There's no limit as to what other documents you can come up with. Your aim is to "convince" them, remember.
