My friend just arrived from his I-485 (family) based interview, all went good, Officer had a good knowledge looked like Asian. She asked the same questions according to the forms.
In the last she said I can not process your application in the absent of subject report. You will have to wait and we will send you a letter.

He was finger printed in May 2007.
How long it takes for the Clearance?
Is their any way we can contact the FBI?
any person, address telephone fax number will help us please.
Thanks.

You can never estimate how long it will take to clear FBI Name check. There are many cases struck at this stage for years and hope your friend's application is not one among them.

Earlier they used to respond to phone calls and e-mails and they stopped doing that now.

If you feel that your friend's application is struct at this stage for a long time, you may request him to address this issue to his local Congressman and seek their help. Though they cannot request FBI to clear his case, they could able to provide at least the current status.

I was not informed of the following before:
At the time of his interview the Officer at uscis, had taken his I-94 and she had already staple in his file.
I already told him this information that he should draft a letter address to Senator/Congressman, of his area with complete info of today and give his application number to find out why it is taking so long. His parent had file for two siblings one had received his/her I-551(Green Card). and parents are USC.
Now they want to travel since he do not have I551, they have to cancelle this trip to India. to attend the marriage of his cousin.

Any suggestion on this.
