Nope. The Dems dug their own grave - and it's only been a year. 2012, Obama and his Dem compandres can kiss goodbye.

As to 2012, still too far to go but i wouldn't be surprised either way.

But most interesting fact is that despite the challenges facing the Dems right now, the GOPs are not tremendously reaping the sweet dividends of the situation as a political party overall. Who is speaking out now? The silent majority - the Independents - that're getting tired of too much politicking that takes place on both sides.

In the end, the electorate are more apt entrust their faith in the Republican party when truth is deemed important. Nothing changes. We've done this time and again. Dems promise utopia and deliver hades. Like most everything democrat. The results point to opposite intent. They claim inclusion but champion hate. They promise a better life but deliver servitude. 2012 will mirror 1980. The green, I mean red shoots are already appearing on the voting box landscape. In so few months people's eyes are being opened. I guess change is possible after all.

That's a matter of opinion, there's also 1992 to look back to.

If you were here in the 70s the parallels between then and now are astonishing.

Can't be because I was just learning the ABCs and 123s then. But yeah, history repeating itself is getting monotonous and boring.

Yeah right davdah. The GOP aren't exactly adding to their ranks either. I don't think the moderate Repubs will want to identify with the likes of Palin and Rush, the so-called "true" conservatives Roll Eyes Although I must admit, the more they swing to the (extreme) right, the better it'll be for us Dems. Do the mainstream Repubs really want to be marginalized and become a regional party?

I guess it depends on which end of the 70's. Be as it may. The climate was similar and similarities easily identifiable even to the most rudimentary of observations. That is humanities Achilles heal. We always repeat events due to ignored lessons of past generations.

Brit, Rush L. is a talk show host and speaks to those elements on the extreme of an issue. It's about ratings. Most people are intelligent enough to realize not every event warrants a hyper response or is of dire consequences. Listening to some of the bile on left oriented programming one would surmise the same level of extremism if right placed in their thinking.

As you've said before re: Rush but you can't deny him and the others, Glen Beck and Sean Hannity for example do much the same thing and they are supposedly respectable reporters.

Couldn't have put it better. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and now Afghanistan.

I prefer to focus on the opportunities rounding the corner. How much better can we be when the crystal ball is likely correct. An exciting moment. I don't know why there is so much anxiety over things you can't change. You aren't going to end any war. Those have been with us since day one. It will be our ultimate demise and undoing. Between those two events, might as well make the best of it and use what's given to your advantage.
