I just joined the forum and am looking for previous threads which have discussed the application process for green card through marriage. I don't want to ask the same questions, which I'm sure others have asked before, so please point me towards those threads. Thanks greatly, Kaye
Need more info. Are you already married? Is the other spouse a USC or LPR? How did the intending immigrant enter the country? Are they presently in the country together?
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

How convenient just 3 months before the visa expiration you got married.
I am not racist. I am not anti-immigrant. I am AGAINST CRIMINALS, FRAUDSTERS, WHO DISOBEY THE LAW, BREAK THE LAW AND PERPETRATE THE FRAUD.
You may not like what I have to say but that does not mean I am wrong.

What do you mean by "how convenient"? This person wishes to adjust status to be with their spouse. Are you trying to say that you do not want a foreign national who is married to a U.S. citizen to adjust status?
Thanks to the kind and helpful people here. I appreciate your time to respond.
Not that I owe anybody any explanation but my husband and I dated for 5 years while I was in school and was traveling doing research for my doctoral dissertation. That individual who claims is not a racist is absolutely wrong in this case; nobody is trying to bypass the law in any way. What gets me is the fact that some people, without knowing anything about you and your situation, automatically assume you're a criminal and a fraud. It must be difficult to live with yourself not being able to trust anybody and thinking everybody is there to trick them and the system. Thank God for the other, friendly, helpful, polite, and minding their own business folks.

So if you have been dating for 5-years, why did you wait to get married and then too within 3-months of visa expiry? Hhhmmmm....I smell marriage fraud in progress.

C'mon. Five years? Thats a long time to plot and scheme a fraud scenario. If she's a doc then she can probably get a GC on her own without being sponsored.

You can simply click his name and add to IGNORE list.
He's a troll.
An Internet troll is someone who intentionally posts controversial/contrary messages in an on-line community/on-line discussion forum with the SOLE intention of baiting users into an argumentative response. Their comments are often fueled by an alternative agenda (i.e., religious, political), are ridiculous, highly opinionated, or unsupported; their interest is primarily in "fighting". They often go from site to site. The term is derived from the fishing technique known as trolling.

Lets see she is Doc who cannot afford 2 hour consultation with an immigration attorney. Well that says it all. And a doc never has a time to surf the chat boards to get an answer.

Hmmm...this guy sure sounds remarkably like S12
We voted Democrat. They'll be no need to sneak in anymore
When you first get out of school, even medical school, your not handed over the keys to the treasury. Not only that. But the more educated you are the more you are capable of doing things yourself. Without paying some windbag lawyer.

But this is legal and you don't want to mess up your so-called 5-years of dating. Everyone in that kind of situation will seek legal counsel. I do smell fishy story and marriage fraud in progress.

Yes I am hater of people who knowingly and intentionally break the law, who knowingly and intentionally manipulate our system. And people like you who have no RESPECT whatsoever for law. People like you who sneak into our country without inspection, who are banned from our country.
