quote: He avoided a trial because he didn't want it all to come out in the open in a humiliating way IMO. Yes he did admit he'd done wrong and resigned, he didn't have much choice, the evidence was overwhelming.
As for Clinton, that was a storm in a teacup in comparison. Playing around with a Whitehouse intern and illegal wiretapping ain't quite in the same league. Serious National security issues vs can't keep his pants on.
the problem is Brit, Clinton created a third party sexual harassment work site. And having *** in the office or on the worksite is defined as sexual harassment by the U.S. government. ANd uring Clinton's tenure, 40 fedeal employees were dismissed for sexual harassment alligations far less than what Clinton did. Yes, he should have resigned, but instead he fought it. And you think Nixon should have fought it too?

Actually, it was Federale's opinion that some of us here at ilw believe immigrants to be more patriotic than those of us born here. Ridiculous? No. Just his opinion in which he is entitled. As for the original discussion, The lady from Africa should have been scorned for complaining about the flag. The flag should have remained in place. This is America and we should have the freedom to display our colors when and where we want to.

Exactly Proud and that's what I am doing. Federale86 likes to belittle immigrants often so I like to belittle him too

Granted, most of Federale's post are ridiculous and he is a prime example of how U.S. educational system has failed.

Well, Federale likes to belittle anyone who disagrees with him whether they are USC, immigrants or residents of Vulcan LOL.

hence the problem, one should not generalize, but Fedewrale generalizes on a routine basis whether one is Muslim, immigrant, or anyone one else who disagrees with his demented philosophy. Politics just adds to the mumbo jumbo Davdah.

The story doesn't mention if she was a USC or not, only that she'd been here for 14yrs. Only a USC has to swear allegiance to the flag. A non-USC does not.

I don't think anyone asked the immigrant to swear allegiance to the flag. In my opinion, it was the right of the USC to hang a flag in her office. The immigrant in the story should have kept quiet. I wonder what would happen if that immigrant hung the flag of her birth country in her office? Do you think the supervisor would handle it differently?

There is a wide gulf between swearing allegiance and being offended. Goes to show a lack of moral character. If not a USC she should be deported.

I have a little bit of a different take on it. None of the articles I've read have stated that she complained about it just for the fact it was an American flag, just that she complained. She may have been bothered by the placement, nothing more. Lets not forget it was a large flag raised in a small office shared by 4 people so there's a good chance it could have gotten in the way and impeded movement, vision and other work functions. What's to say that's not what her issue was with it? The supervisor is even more culpable, in my opinion. The situation was handled poorly. Instead of saying "OK, we've had a complaint regarding this, these are the reasons why, what can we do to sort it?", she took matters in to her own hands and acted like an idiot, forcing the media meltdown and the hype and forcing management to kowtow. And before any of you say "Oh, but you're an immigrant, of course you have no respect for our flag" (because I know that some of the ingrates here will do that), I have an American flag flying in my yard.

From the story:
"When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. 'I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'' McLucas said."
The immigrant found the Flag of These United States OFFENSIVE!!!!!!!!!
So, where are all you patriotic immigrants?
