I got I-751 form which indicates the application fee is $205 and which says the form will expire 09/30/08 on the top right corner.
But the service center returned my application and asked me to send $275 instead. I am confused.
Anyone knows when this new fee started.
Thanks
The fee is $205.00, but there is also a biometrics fee of $70.00 as well. There's some confusion as to whether it is best that an alien remit one check in total of $275.00 or two separate checks, that has caused some confusion of late. I'd remit two, and see what happens.

Hi - just one question here - why this biometrics? Sorry for this question, this is ... *** Well, I do not know, I had my biometrics done ant US embassy already 2 years ago when I received my immigrant visa ... so now, when I filled for I-751 I have to have it done again? Because I sent a $205 check too ... I know, they have to make sure this marriage is not fake (well, mine is for sure not) but it seems like they want to make more money on us
I sent my application I-751 in Sept. 2006 and sent a total of $205, and my Biometrics was included, since I had everyhting done 2 weeks after sumbiting my application. And only paid $205.
PS: HONEY - you have to do your Bio-Metrics eachtime aka when you apply for your conditional GreenCard, Then again when you apply to remove the Conditional....and you will also do the Bio-Metrics again when you apply for Citizenship.

USCIS has no digital storage facility, in place at this time, to store biometrics information. There is a validity period for biometrics of about 15 months, which means that some will have to do them over.

Thank you all!!! - but this was something I never had to do over here in US so I am a bit confused.
OK, so I assume I have to do my biometrics - but how? I just submitted I-751 to Nebraska (70 days before my GC expiration), their processing times are about 6 months from filling so - sorry for absolutely stupid question - how do I do my biometrics, where to go or so on? Or should I wait for their receipt and them telling me to do so?
Umm....u will receive a lett from USCIS,letting you know when and where to go to your biometrics appoinment,it will be set up already for you then. All they do is,take one "single" finter print of your index finger and one picture.Thats it...you are done within 2 minutes.
So far, everyone I know has to do the bio metrics eachtime they change status. Applying for conditional, removing conditiona and appliying for citizenship..eachtime u have to do bio metrics...just for the records and to double check with the fbi,to run your records through them before processing you application and what not
Well, I ended up as Hijie; they sent me my petition back, ****k and requested more money this Monday - I sent it back the same day with the exact money requested, e.g. $345 (for me and my son). But they should have stated this along I-751 directions ... Hey gyus, please, do you have any idea when I can expect a receipt? Today I am completely mad (I do not want to use a stronger word). I finally found some job here but they want 6 month of work permit at least. But how can I have 6 months if I can file I-751 only 90 days before GC expiration???????? This is BS. Well, I hope that NOA extends it (is that right?) but when can I expect it to come ... I do not want to loose this job. See, my husband is going to have a surgery soon and I just need as least something home-based so we are able to pay at least some of our bills. How long does it take for that NOA? Please, any ideas?
