That's good to know, Sam. I will ask, then, why this site cannot be a 'soft place to land' for immigrants seeking help? Instead it has become another link for the xenophobic hatred that is promoted from other sites such as Alipac.us. They promote their members to sign on to sites like this to spread their 'gospel'. You guys who run this site have it in your power to establish rules. For example, take a look at Alipac's rules (pay particular attention who they allow to participate in their forum - I used bold print to point it out)

Rules:

1. Language & hatred: No obscene language or racially derogatory comments are allowed. This includes symbols that stand for profanity used to replace letters in profane words. (!&^#*#)

When in doubt ask a moderator or check the FCC guidelines on language. Terms that are considered racially derogatory are prohibited regardless of intent or usage. The goal here is to inform and discuss, not to offend. If your motivations are racist, we suggest you find another forum.

ALIPAC enjoys the support of Americans from many different racial and ethnic backgrounds. We are Americans United to fight illegal immigration. Our boards are open to all that share our cause.

NO RACISM AND NO RACE BAITING

RACE BAITING= "ACCUSING OTHERS OF BEING RACIST without evidence IN AN EFFORT TO SILENCE OR LOWER THE TONE OF THE DEBATE"

2. Conflicts: No personal attacks, threatening language, or personal information on the board. Calling other users names or attacking others will not be tolerated. Don't call other users names or apply labels to them that you can't substantiate (See Bayourod). Any information about private citizens or your personal info should not be placed on the open forum.

2.5
NO VIOLENT LANGUAGE ALLOWED, NO GUN/WEAPONS TALK or AVATARS No discussion of insurrection or Civil War caused by Americans.

3. Avatars: Avatars are encouraged, please keep them tasteful and clean. Avatars must be 200 by 200 pixels or less. Contact the admin if you need help with your avatar.

4. Articles & Announcements: Please check the ALIPAC homepage and archives before placing article in the member news section. Please post articles and announcements in the forum instead of e-mailing them to officers unless you have a question about the material. Always include your source and a link to the original material since some of your posts may be selected for inclusion on our home page. A link to member news will be posted on our homepage shortly.

5. Copyrights: The articles placed within this site are covered by the Fair Use Act and are being archived for educational purposes by individual activists and a non-profit organization. These articles are part of our free political speech.

6. Disclaimer: ALIPAC is not responsible for the content of posts, comments, articles, and links to other organizations. Posting here does not imply endorsement or support. Posts from the public here are NOT organizational statements or the positions of ALIPAC. Official ALIPAC organizational positions and statements are found on the main at www.alipac.us

7. Suggestions: We encourage our users to provide feedback and comments on our board and rules. Upgrades and improvements will be continually considered and initiated.

8. Passwords & Accounts: User names and passwords are case sensitive. Please contact an administrator for help with your account if you have trouble logging in. We reserve the right to ban or suspend any users without warning. That being said, we will always strive to communicate with our members, provide a clear set of guidelines, warn users and explain our decisions when possible.

9. ALIPAC website users are encouraged to seek out like minded Internet users and invite them to the site. Members are also encouraged to establish links on other sites that point at our homepage or link into articles here. Your efforts to bring others into our effort and direct traffic to this site is essential to our success.

10. When in doubt, practice the Golden Rule.

For everyone's info:

I have received a whole slew of complaints and PMs from folks on various sides of different arguments on this board in the last few days. The gist of all complaints boil down to, in my opinion, a disagreement over matters of opinion, along with requests to ban posters, delete posts, and other things in a similar vein. Due to the fact that I would have to delete most of the text in most of the PMs if I were to post them here, I am not doing so. However, a couple of specific PM points are of general interest, and deserve a separate response, and I will be posting my responses to these shortly.

I received the following PM:
I was thinking for some time to make it possible for thread starters to be able to control their own thread by having the ability to remove unwanted disruptive posts. In fact, I think this should solve the problem of moderating the board to some degree, as board participants would take care of the problematic posts on their own (limited only to their own threads).

My response:
This is truly an innovative idea, one I had not before thought of. I am forwarding this to our tech guru for consideration. However, based on his past feedback for me, I expect to hear from him that this cannot be done now, but is being put in the wishlist for the upgrade coming later this year. Will keep everyone updated.

Another PM point:
I hope you don't share any private information such as IP addresses and don't disclose them to third parties. I would like to receive your confirmation on this, whenever you have the time to respond. I'd like to say that you are doing a good job with moderating the board by just being present and responsive to the community. Keep it up, and thank you Sam.

My response:
IP addresses etc are investigated by me only when necessary to enforce the board's rules. They are never disclosed to third parties (we would cooperate with a warrant or law enforcement request if appropriate, OTOH if we believe the cause unfounded, we may ask for a court to compel us before cooperating). And thanks for the kind words for me!

I have received a PM requesting deletion of a member's personal home address on a thread on this board. We will be doing so within the next business day.

Its surprising how easily offended many become because someone disagrees with them. If you can't handle an argument then go to the knitting forum. This is as bad a 1st grade classroom. One group keeps calling on the teacher to punish the other group because they don't like them. Waaaaaa waaaaa waaa. Grow up you bunch of babies. Quit planting evidence and stop baiting people for the purpose of trying to ban them.

Real simple. If you don't like what someone says, don't respond. If your going to respond then be prepared to defend your position. And to think some of you claim to be lawyers in training. What a joke. A lawyer makes their money by defending a position and formulating arguments. Are you going to ask the judge to ban opposing counsel from the courtroom? This is to some degree the court of public opinion. If your in favor of something you should be utilizing this to positively promote your agenda. Not whining that someone hurt your itty bitty feelings.

My only complaint is that people are complaining. Lose your ability to talk at all and you will have something to complain about.

Davdah, it isn't just about he content that she posts, it is a lot to do with her INTENT in here.

Yes you can ignore her but she clearly wants to use this place as a playroom and to merely cause trouble.

There are plenty of posts by members that I don't like to read and I chose to either comment on it or ignore them.

I for one am thinking of new members who come here and come across her posts. They don't know the history here, and will think this is an anti immgrant forum.
If her buddies from Alicrappers and alike get sent here from her, what will become of this site? Sam cannot moderate it 24/7.

Not everyone is as tough as you Davdah, and can tolerate as much as you. Just because you can, does not make other cry babies.

She finds weakness in people and uses that against them, but when someone stands up to her or disagrees with her as seen in the past, look what she did...post a link to here for support.

We have posters here that have been a pain in the rear end for sometime now, but they don't have the same intentions as she has. That is the difference.

I also would like to add..do you really think that any respected and well known site would have put up with her?

No, they wouldn't as they have rules and she would have been warned and banned with her posts.

Why do you think she has been banned in various of sites? They don't want all her extreme anti's that is why. She was a problem for them, and now has become a problem here too because of the laxed rules.

Its too simple. If everyone who disagrees with her would actually ignore her then she would probably lose interest and just leave. What good is making a speach when there is no audience?

For those that do jump in the frey they need to remember something. The other side is just as hell bent on their opinion. If someone snaps at them expect the same in return. I'm not saying Bev is innocent of hurling insults. She is very adept at it. But it takes two to tango. Any argument can be kept civil or brought to that level if at least one of the participants steers it that way. All it usually takes is not using choice words. With that, anyone who has gotten into it with her is just as guilty.

Exuse me, davdah. I could care less about her choice of posts. I ignore them in the threads but she's duplicated articles frequently lately where they are disruptive. This is my complaint about her. There's no exuse for it.

Here davdah, entertain yourself, you'll like it.
