My husbands fingerprint day is coming up, but he was arrested while with his ex here in the states, will this affect him, and if so, what may or may not happen?

It depends entirely on a few things:

1) His immigration status...
2) What he was arrested for...
3) If he gets convicted or not...

It is hard to answer your question without more information; however, one thing is for sure... Things just got a whole lot more complicated...

Also, it is highly advised not to lie to the INS........Make sure that he has his court papers (if he went to court) or a police record of the events. You will probably need them.

Speak to a good immigration lawyer......as the previous reply stated....More info is needed and things have just got a whole lot more complicated.

of domestic violence. his wife did not come to court, so they dismissed everything. However, what is the least, and the most that can happen. Will someone please tell me, and if he doesn't have his court papers, how can he get a copy of them indicating that the case was dismissed since he needs one?

Signed,

Just go to the Court Recorder's office--the court where his case was supposed to be heard. If he knows the CASE NUMBER, Court DATES, etc...it will help. If not, he may be able to do a search under his name/ year, etc using the Court's Computers. He will need to fill in a small form with the above info and hand it to the clerk. The clerk will then do a search for the FILE on the CASE. Afterwhich, he will have to go thru the entire the file and look for that COURT JUDGEMENT--maybe called a DISMISSAL. Request a CERTIFIED COPY (must be CERTIFIED)--pay a few dollars for it. Then send a copy or take a copy of this DISMISSAL to the INS...have the ORIGINAL CERTIFIED COPY ready to show whenever he goes for an interview, etc... INS would want to see this.
Hope I have helped.

Let me see if I have this right. Your husband beat the shit out of his ex-wife and YOU married him? Your husband is a piece of shit and you are a dumbass for marrying him. He is going to beat you up and I'm gonna laugh my ass off.

Domestic violence is the worst crime the INS hates. Since his case was dismessed, he must be lucky as long as he never pleaded guilty for that same case, if he did, then he got himself in into trouble, or even deportation. I hope he didn't.
Also, I really suggest to see an immigration lawyer that can advice him before he goes for his fingerprints.

Good luck

if there is a simon on here, i wish to hear from him, he has alot of good information. I went to the court recorders office, and the paper just says stet, meaning probation before judgement, it does not say dismissed, how should we proceed. Only sensible people respond please.

Thanks
