There is no doubt- it is a tragedy! We'll be lucky if in 4 years we are in the same economical situation, not worse. It was a popularity contest and the only good thing about his win, is that he made history as the first black president elect. He has screwed up ideas about the way this country should be.
We don't need any "change", we just need some things to be fixed, but i love US just the way it is. You know, everytime a Republican wins, liberals are whining that they are going to move to Canada or Europe, and i actually know people who did that. But where can the rest of the people go if Obama "changes" this country?

If something needs fixed , it implies that it is in need of repair or possibly broken. That indicates "Change". No matter how small or large, a variation will take place that will alter the present state of it . This change or repair could be a simple resistor or diode to make it work again as it did. There could be a completely new technology to completely change it to create a new fix. Whatever the solution, it will technically be a "change". The simple fact remains is that we cannot stay as we are right now.... things are going broke still as we speak.

We cannot stay as we are at this rate and still be able to enjoy america as you have been doing.

What lies? All things listed were offered up as the program of change. However, its a change in the direction of Socialism. A lot of us believe so. For some that claim to be American it seems tolerance to opinion only extends to the point of agreement. Beyond that is the fairness doctrine. There is your lie.

Yes, it hurts to admit, but yes, it's all brazen lies. Not that I blame you, but I in fact and in truth sympathize with you. Because I can only imagine how it feels. And songs of praise and hallelujahs are of course unexpected from the mouths of the fallen and crushed after a bitter political contest. Not so much from our side, but almost always from yours. Liberals could easily pick up the pieces and rise up from a defeat, while in contrast narrow-minded Conservatives tend to be sad, bad, mad, and (in general) bald.

Socialism, socialism, socialism is the most favored refrain, a la McCarthyism of the 40s and 50s. And oh, yes, the revival of the "Fairness Doctrine" label being attached to Obama too. Huhummm! It's nothing but bitterness written all over.

Ok, in retrospect, it's preposterous to conclude that the overwhelming Obama victory was mainly and purely due to his own merits. But it has rather been for some considerable part due to the massive, massive repudiation of the republican platforms of tight money (except when there's need to bully abroad), lower taxes (for the wealthy who gamble all night and cry S.O.S. in the morning), deregulation of the financial system (well, you be the judge...). And all this is for the mainstream electorate.

Because, on the side, and not being subjected to pre-election surveys, what constituted the huge, huge difference in this campaign are the Latino bloc, who were short changed in 2004, and the 18-29 year old new voters, who find in Obama the hope and promise with whom to entrust their values. Unlike with the elitist, out of touch, out of this world, politics of old.

Over the weekend President-elect Barack Obama scrubbed Change.gov, his transition Web site, deleting most of what had been a massive agenda copied directly from his campaign Web site.

Gone are the promises on how an Obama administration would handle 25 different agenda items - everything from Iraq and immigration to taxes and urban policy - all items laid out on his campaign Web site, www.BarackObama.com.
Instead, the official agenda on Change.gov has been boiled down to one vague paragraph proclaiming a plan "to revive the economy, to fix our health care, education, and social security systems, to define a clear path to energy independence, to end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan, and to work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, among many other domestic and foreign policy objectives."

The site went active on Wednesday and was available to the public Thursday. The agenda items, which were active for at least part of the weekend, appear to have been deleted by late Saturday.
