Good evening everyone

I do litigation consulting in Florida. I am from the country of Belize. Recently my firm started the application for PR on my behalf. I am currently on a H1B. The labor certification has been filed here in FL and they have responded as of April 25,2003

I have three basic questions

1) How long will it take for this phase of the application to be approved?

2) Do the EB priority categories have any relevance considering that all categories appear to be "current"? I assume the use of the word current means that there are available visas.

3) I am getting married next month to another H-1B holder. How will my application affect my spouse when this is all done. ie will she be entitled to a GC at the time I get mine??

Thanks

First congratulation for your labor certification. It s the hardest part to go thru. I am right now still waiting for this certification (and i applied in Mai 2001 !!!). All i can tell you is that the PR process is very straightforward once yu got the LC it s just a question of time. People i asked (including the BCIS agents nice enough to answer my question) told me that it s a matter of a year. But there is still many step before the Green Card is approved. Recently i heard that the processing time for PR increased significantly... some can last up to 2 years.
This is all i know and i hope this can help you as much as possible.
