Sourav Ganguly has been retained as India captain for the home series against West Indies starting next month, a senior board official has said.

"We have retained Ganguly as captain for the West Indies series," Karunakaran Nair, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, told reporters.

The 29-year-old keeps the job after a good tour of England where India came from behind to draw a four-Test series 1-1 after winning a one-day series against the hosts and Sri Lanka.

Ganguly's side have also reached the final of the 12-team Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka.

West Indies, currently training in Sri Lanka, begin their first tour of India for eight years on October 4.

They are scheduled to play three Tests in Bombay (October 9-13), Madras (October 17-21) and Calcutta (October 30-November 3) and seven one-dayers from November 6 to 24.

The selectors also named the Board President XI that will take on the West Indies in the tour opener at Bangalore from October 4-6.

Mohammad Kaif has been named the captain of the team which also includes openers Gautam Gambhir and Sanjay Bangar. Tamil Nadu's stylish middle-order batsman Hemang Badani, Dinesh Mongia and spinners Sarandeep Singh and Murali Kartik were the other notable inclusions.

The squad: Mohammad Kaif (Captain), Gautam Gambhir, Sanjay Bangar, Hemang Badani, Dinesh Mongia, Parthiv Patel (WK), T Yohannan, Irfan Pathan, Amit Mishra, L Balaji, M Kartik, Sarandeep Singh and Akash Chopra.

Please do not post this silly material. This has nothing to do with immigration. You will only create an anti Indian feeling. Don't be stupid.
