Thank you for your comments I appreciate you taking the time, but I will show up the hearing, I have never run or hide ( to old to start ) I know that the burglary charge although I did not initiated or did the break in I was a willing participant, I was sentence to 30 days in my roll for hat offense. I believe under CMIT the punishment had had to exide 1 year but I'm not banking on that.

It's not the length of sentence you actually got but what you could have got that counts. If the maximum sentence you could have been given is more than 365 days then you will have a problem with a CIMT offense: "According to removal grounds: "Any alien who is convicted of a crime of moral turpitude (CMT) for which a sentence of one year or longer may be imposed" is deportable." So, now we know that Harald not only is a criminal, he also doesn't want to live here anyway. So, if working overseas is so nice, why come back, and do it twice? Good riddance.

I was thinking about giving you a Civil Explannation but after a brief moment I decided that you don't deserve one. Thank you for all your comments and I appreciate the time it took you to write them, seems like you have a lot of it on your hands.

Civil is not a word fedNUT knows so there's little point in trying to educate him in it. You learn quick Harald

Fight, fight, fight..that's all I can say. I have something similar going on in my life, but I have made it my goal to win this and I know I am more determined than my adversary could ever be. I wish you good luck, but do not leave it up to them, Harald. BTW: Why do you have a German name?

Hello Brit, I went for the Deferred Inspection yesterday. Without going thru all the details I can tell you tat it went well, however I will still have to see the Judge on one case that happened 35 years ago. The person conducting the Inspection was very simpatetic and told me that I will be alright, that in he 20 years she has never seen anyone deported for an offense such as mine and particularly since it happened so long ago and the fact that I have not been in trouble ever since, I explain her about my social security benefits an she said that she will expedite as soon as possible a temporary Green card so that I can take it to the SSA or in case I want to work, that should happened in next week or two, she will then give me a date to appear in front of the Judge for my offense in 1974. Once I'm done with everything I will again apply for Citinzenship. If you have any comments, please feel free, thank you for your support Brit

Harald, I am glad too that it went ok for you! If I may suggest to still go and get a lawyer once the give you the NTA (Notice to Appear). Please do have someone to defend you as immigration law is extremely complex and you don't want to mess around. Alles Gute!

Good news Harald. Just goes to show some on here who think they know the law..they are wrong. I'd echo Koller's advice about the NTA. Don't try to do it alone.

Hi Brit, and to those who think they know the Law, all I have to say is, I'm glad you are not my Attorney. I'm not out of the woods yet, but things are turning out a lot different than I suspected and even told.
Will keep you posted!!

I have to say in all fairness to those who advised me not to go to the Deferred Inspection because I would be detained on the spot and deported, that I believe they were looking after my best Interest and I appreciate their concern for me, but running is not an option for me, if I broke the Law then I would be doing it again by running and I'm not about to do that, I'm just not the same person now. Thank you for reading this.
