My boyfriend of 2 years has ask me to marry him. He is a US citizen and I'm in limbo with immigration cause my applications are pending , the problem is he was arrested, charged and convicted for felony armed robbery when he was 19, he's now 35. I've never been arrested. My question is does anyone know if his conviction will hurt my immigrant proceedings? Also should I wait till all my applications are approved before we get married?
Thank you in advance.

His record won't affect your ability. What applications are you waiting to be approved?

There may be a marriage reporting requirement while in aos but other than that it shouldn't matter.

passoia, That is a very good question. I think as of now it might not affect you. But for other people in the future it will. There are laws that congress is working on presently that will ban US Citizen who have committed certain type of crime from getting Immigration benefit for their families. Consult with an Attorney..
Good Luck...GOD BLESS AMERICA........Speedy
