Here are my responses to the various posts on this thread since my last visit:

To 4now: We would like to proceed very cautiously on sub-dividing the board. I agree that one of the distinguishing characteristics of our board is that we dont have subdivisions. Next week, lets work on sprint_girl07's point re long time member identification for newcomers. After that, if you want to raise this issue again in late Jan/early Feb, we will look at it and discuss this matter with the community.

To mike_2007: As per my previous posts, the audio matter is with our tech gurus, and it will be atleast a week or so more before they come back on this.

To sprint_girl07: We are in New York City, in mid-town Manhattan. We are 6 of us at ILW.COM.

To sprint_girl07 and Mrs. B: Thanks for checking out the Alexa toolbar. Please let me know what you think of it after you try it for a few days.

To explora: I was surprised to hear that it would not work with Vista. I went to the Alexa website to check on this, and nothing seems to indicate that Alexa is not compatible with Vista. I believe it does work with Vista, since this is one of the most downloaded toolbars on the internet, and it would be shocking if it were not compatible with Vista. Hello Everyone:

I have a few answers.

Audio cannot be enabled on this board due to technology issues. If someone knows how to enable audio on eve/groupee, please let me know. Also, even if it is possible, we would need to take a look at bandwidth issues. However, as I have discussed before, we are considering moving to a new technology platform in 2008. If that happens, look for many cool new features.

To sprint_girl07, we dont have any way under groupee/eve to allow folks to add/detract from the "karma points" which is how people get the titles such as "power member" etc. We have two options here - we can manually add karma points from the admin account to any user (such as a moderator that we appoint) - or we can suspend members from this board. My two cents here is that as community members accumulate karma points, they would be loathe to be banned, and would confirm to the board's rules strictly. And if we move toward volunteer moderation, we can assign a large number of karma points, say 10,000 to the volunteer moderator(s), for whom we can create an entirely new category. However, I come back again to my point about new technlogy - we are seriously considering moving to a new platform in 2008, and at that point, we would have the ability to let the board users add/detract from the karma points, thus addressing sprint_girl07's point.

I believe I have come back to the community on all pending issues. If I have inadvertently forgotten something, please let me know. For everyone's info, we have changed the time format to make it shorter.

Trust that everyone in this community feels that the board is cleaner and has better quality now. If you like what you see, please invite those you may know to join this community. Or, if you are involved in other communities, you may want to consider letting your friends there know about our little group here. Thanks.

I forgot one point for 4now: The PM look and feel is hardwired in the general color scheme. As I have mentioned before, we are considering a technology considerably superior to groupee/eve. That should allow more customization.

Also, we do not re-instate long-suspended members absent compelling cause.

So, now all questions are off my plate. If I have forgotten to answer someone, please let me know.
