I agree with the proposal, but with one proviso. There needs to be clear cut examples of what is appropriate and what is not appropriate. For example from a political discussion board called US Politics Online:

If a person chooses to live a transatory life then it is part of the game to have to move from time to time. But don't we do that ourselves? Companies move from state to state. The employees follow. How many states have you lived in? Who's responsibility is it when you have to sell your home or uproot everything when your employer goes under?

Yes, you should hesitate when typing because now it will come with consequences. It will no longer matter which side of the fence you are on, all posters will have the rules applied equally. And posters are now being attacked because of the their political, religious, or ny other belief. What happened in the 1950's under McCarthyism is happening now in this board. History is repeating itself, yet no one has truly learned of the consequences of such actions. And if you are banned, you will have no one to blame but yourself.

I don't call 8 years a short visit, Davdah. I'm sure they knew it was temporary, but many of them probably came with hope that it would turn into permanent. Most of them didn't leave anything behind in El Salvador.

As far as living a transatory life, I would bet most of us wouldn't make that choice. I've lived in two states within a 50 mile radius. If a company uproots, most of the employees do not follow them, unless the company is willing to provide relocation expenses. Not many companies are offering these type of incentives anymore.

When we make a choice to relocate or change jobs, it is usually to improve our quality of life, right? We don't choose to go backward. But, that's exactly what our government expects of the people they invite to this country. Use them then lose them - pathetic, I say.

When did our government invites illegals to this country?

Sam, this isn't only about foul language. I see you want to avoid getting rid of some posters who seem to increase the site hit numbers, but how do you know you are not losing double or triple that amount of hits because thousands may be put off by the level this board represents (and it hit rock bottom a few days ago IMHO).
If you want our continued presence on this board, and real contributions, you need to set respectable terms of use for this board, and I think what Hudson posted is perfect, and we're deserving no less that that.
