Can anyone share his or her adjustment of status interview experience under section 245i?(FAMILY BASE) Please provive timeline. Section 245i was the law which allow some immigrant who were out of status or EWI to be inteview here in the state provided a petition was file for the individual before april 30,2001 and a penalty of 1,000 paid
I will be going to my interview on June 12th. I had to pay the $1000 penalty because I EWI. If you can wait till then, I'll let you know what happens. My step-dad petitioned for me so my case is not based on marriage.
I'm the same as herbit, but i had my interview it was pretty easy...they just ask me how i got in the country and what age i was at the time. She told me that i had to wait until my mother's application for adjust to be approved first before she can approve mine. In most cases they will just approve the son/daughter but i had an IO who went by the book. She also told me that me name check wasn't cleared yet, so i'm hoping that once it's cleared they'll just mail out my GC.
Thanks malakai and herbit. During the course of your proccesing did you apply for EAD? If yes what is the time frame between when you recieved your EAD and your interview date?

the 1000 is under 1485 supplement A som new way to get money my mom had to pay that **** to i have not clue why..one day mymom went and they sid during biometrics that she had to pay it
