My status is under TPS = no allow to re-enter USA.
I will like to go to Hawaii for my honey moon.
Do I need a green card??
Can I re-enter USA under TPS?
I know Hawaii is part of USA but it's overseas, I know before you could re-enter showing your DL - However the laws have changed.
Does anybody know????

Thanks,

As long as you are flying between US territories, you only need a driver's license or other state issued id to fly. You should be fine if you have a valid drivers license, JSalas.

If you fly to Hawaii on your honeymoon, why would you need to reenter the United States...when you won't even have left the country in the first place?

...and foreigners were never allowed to enter America by simply showing a driver license; that privilege was reserved solely for American citizens.

ProudUSC: Hawaii isn't a U.S. territory...it's actually a U.S. State.

You're welcome, ProudUSC...I was happy to keep you up to date...after all, Hawaii's only been a state since 1959.

Your state driver's license should be adequate to travel to Hawaii. If you are still in doubt, call a travel agent or an airline to confirm. Good luck! Smile

Actually SunDevil is correct. The drivers license is accetable for USCs only. For TPS they should consult with the district director. For most states its not an issue. With Hawaii and Alaska there is the potential for a flight diversion into a foreign country.

Vote Republican and this country will still be worth sneaking into.

Hi JSalas,

Can give you my experience if you like.

When I went there I didn't have my Green Card yet, my passport was at Embassy having name change and I had an expired work permit.
I didn't have a DL nor a ID card.

Makes matters worse my airline ticket was in my married name, and expired work permit in my maiden name.

But airline and airport said it was ok for me to fly with expired work permit as it was a government issued ID, and if I took along my marriage license to show married name (so ticket would be ok) all will be ok.

Going to Hawaii they just wanted me to show them photo ID, both at my departure destination and at AZ where I got next plane. Arriving at Honolulu, you come off plane and you are not checked as this is classed as a domestic inbound flight.

Leaving you go through normal procedure of showing ID and so on. Security is up at Honolulu now, so make sure you pack right. Long lines leaving to, during busy hours.

I would suggest however to take any immigration related document, or copy of just in case anyone ever asked for you to prove Status.
Some States do require to prove it these days so not to get into problems, take some proof with you.

Where you going? Which Island I mean?
Kauai is my favorite.

THANK YOU guys for the advice..

Sprint_girl07; we are planning to go to Maui, however I am afraid they'll not let me back on mainland. What kind of status did you have back then??
My work permit clearly states: NO VALID TO RE-ENTER USA

No, not a weasel. Wouldn't dream of it. I have seen, as I'm sure most have, some disturbing things concerning Obama. At first it was more of a joke than anything wanting Hillary to win. Now, well,. I really am hoping she wins.

A guy that refuses to honor our flag. The minister connection. His wife and her comments. There is a scent of sinister objectives lingering in the air. Too many questions and not enough answers. My question is how did he get to be a senator to begin with?

My presence here is somewhat limited. Can chat openly but no access to PM.
