In order to secure a voluntary leave instead of removal/deportation: should I apply so before or at the master hearing date itself???

Chase,

If you apply for and are approved for voluntary departure BEFORE and maybe even during the trial, they will give you more time to leave (120 instead of 60, I believe). They may also give you a choice in where you want to go.

However, not everyone is eligible for voluntary departure. I can look this up if you like. I think you had to have done something really bad to not be granted V/D. I'm sure that's not you, though :)
