I'm surprised you even got an interview in the first place because the USCIS usually only issues appointments for Naturalization interviews after the background checks are complete. The checks can be the longest part of the whole process and vary greatly between each USCIS office. Good luck anyway

Myself and two other friends pass the citizenship interview and the test on 5/24/05. We are still waiting for the background check. The three of us applied on June 2004
Another friend in Chicago passed the interview and exam on July 2004 and still waiting.
I talked to the congressman office in my town and the told me the worst case they have seen so far is 26 months for clearance, however they said more than 90% of the people get the clearance in less than a month, hope that you are one of them.

I had my naturalization interview last month and passed the exam as well. After the USCIS officer went through the N-400, she told me all that remainded was for her supervisor to go through the application and see if my background check had cleared. About a week after the interview, I received notice of naturalization oath ceremony which was last month as well. Hopefully yours has been cleared as well.

Hmmm, Long Time Here was trying to point out that it should be "Children like" not "Children likes"...but if you like you can rib him for his spelling error. He m-u-f-f-ed it and rewrote "Childen" Wink

It is ok, right now this is not the issue. Issue is only how long I will have to wait for clearance.
