I'm the husband of Jake01, and I've been reading the postings flying back and forth on this site... My wife is from England mind you, and here is my position on all of this...

I'm American by birth...British by the Grace of God! I'm fully prepared to loose my life in the protection and defense of both countries, I'm prior service US Army, and would proudly service in the British Forces sould the need arise, if a draft ever gets fired up in the UK, I will return to British soil and enlist in Royal Army to defend her, AS A US CITIZEN! You have become to narrow minded to appreciate the depth to which people take matters of immigration seriously, and what truely matters in their life, their hearts, and their families...

If the US and its Citizens wants sort out Immigration and stop illegal immigrants from either coming here or overstaying here, then what the USCIS need to to is, actually employ people who know what they are doing, train them properly so they DO know what they are saying and doing, so incorrect information is not given,mistakes are not made, and easier informative information is easily made available to people wanting to know the law/rules etc

And to all the US Citizens here online, who come to sites like this, instead of being rude, unhelpful, racist, and anti immigrants, whey don't you be helpful and give advice or knowledge if in fact you do know it, (unlike SOM who thinks he is the USA, and can't get over his sad life) to help immigrants so they know what to do correctly, how to be sure to do things legally, and so on.
Is this not a forum to seek help and advice on Immigration? This place is more like somewhere to get abuse, racist remarks, anti women abuse and all that.
Some of you are here for the right reasons and do help, but some are purely here to take out their fraustration on genuine people who need help. Whether they are legal or illegal, help instead of abusing them.

Dear Jake and spouse: I have already fought for this country in Viet Nam, likely before you were born, so I have done my duty and now I do even more trying to (a) educate Americans who don't seem to understand the basic rule of law and (b) rid the US of every illegal alien.
Our rules are simple...and there was NOTHING preventing Jake from returning to his country on time, as he promised when he was using the VWP privilege (or a visa)...repeat...there was nothing preventing his return except his own lack of responsibility and lack of respect for the laws of the United States of America.
As to Sprint Girl...our rules are again, very simple. If you come here as a tourist, then LEAVE after your 'tourism' visit....instead of conjuring up a thousand and one excuses as to why one cannot obey a simple rule. That is just pure BS from those too ignorant or too irresponsible to play by the rules and laws of this nation....and we, the American people with IQs over 80 (which leaves out most of the posters on this site) don't want illegals here anymore....just ask the patriotic folks in Prince William county....they understand our laws.

In fact, I would invite those immigrants who so persistently critisize you when you passionately defend your position to imagine, at least for a moment, what it would be like to be in your shoes?
How would they be talking/acting if they were you, if it was their country, their town, their heritage, culture and lifestyle that was going through unprecedented transition for the past 40 years (as a direct result of radically changed immigration laws and highly increased quotas)?
I am certain that many would speak differently if knew where were you coming from.

I do know what you are talking about, In the UK, we have the same problem with Illegal immigrants, and I never thought for one minute I would ever be in the same boat (as to Speak). Although in the UK immigrants come over and can go straight on to welfare, and that pisses everybody off. at least you dont have that here, unless you can SCAM your way into getting it. I HAVE NOT!

I did not want to be here Illegally, yes I could have got back on the plane and returned home, but my husband and I didnt want to be seperated, we didnt want our first year of marraige apart, yes WE DID THE WRONG THING, but I have NOT taken a USC's job for a lower income, I have done nothing else illegal, my husband supports me 150%, he is one in a million.

by the way Jake is a woman, not a teenager, I was previously married to a guy for 20 years, I take my vowels seriously, I do not hop out of one bed into another.

And before anyone says "GET A JOB" why should your husband support you, once I get approved (HOPEFULLY) and get my employment authorisation I will be getting a job, so my Husband and I can have a better life.

another point to ask yourselves, if you men have a wife, where would you like them to be.....

if its a good marraige they should be with thier man, standing beside them, supporting them, looking after them, loving them. being a good caring wife, well that's what I am **** well doing, is that so wrong.

Each individual must be wherever the law authorises him or her to be.

Doing wrong thing for the "right" reasons (i.e. being illegally in the country for family unity and etc.) is not a valid excuse and does not releive one of the responsibility for one's actions.

For those who are angry regarding people coming here illegally or overstaying illegally, what is it that angers you exactly?
The fact they are illegal or that they might claim benefits etc?
If someone did overstay, if they were being supported by their husband, and wanted to get a job and earn their own money etc..and trying to get their legal papers etc..would you still think the same as illegals who come here and use taxpayers money?

Far as some people on here, whether you are legal or illegal, it seems that if you are any immigrant coming to this country for whatever reason, we are trash

In fact I am not angry, just being impartial and reasonable when stating by opinion.

She already admitted that she was wrong overstaying as such, but wanted to stay with her husband.

She needs advice and that is what she should get from here, not abuse and a load of bull from some people on here.

When I went through the immigration process, I tell you what..I said no wonder there are so many people here illegally, because the process is hard and complicated, financial and so fraustrated when you have to be apart from your loved one if that was your case.

Its not easy the process and NO I do not agree with a post above about how its easy to understand and made easily available. I came here legally, they changed the rules constantly, didn't know what they were doing themselves (immigration) it was a nightmare!

It even put a strain on our marriage because of the wait etc..

Its not easy, and immigration is complicated otherwise you wouldn't have these forums with people asking for help

I agree that she (Jake01) needs advice and most certainly she never asked to be abused.
As a good, caring wife (and a sophisticated one at a that) she deserves all the praise from me.

But I also understand Someone12's frustration with illegal immigration and I beleive him when he says it's not personal.
I think if Jake01 and others tried S12's shoes on their feet for a moment, they would get a better feeling where he was coming from.
