I came to know that after interview of an immigrant visa, while being processed by the US Consulate abroad, the benificiary is given a piece of paper saying "your case needs aditional administrative processing, we will contact you when it is complete"
Can someone tell me what it is? and is there a time limit to it. Becase one of my acquantiance got interviewed 6 months earlier and was told that he will get his passport and visa within a month. But still he is waiting for it. When ever he sends an e-mail, fax or calls the US Consulate they always say the same thing, that it is still under Admin. processing.
not everybody gets a slip with that dreadful note.
It is more common in the countries with a high visa fraud. "Administrative processing" covers a vide range: from waiting for security clearance to in-depth investigation about the relationship (if marriage based visa), and everything in between you can imagine.
Unfortunately, there is no time limit. Some here back in the matter of weeks, some are left to wait for years.
here = hear (why am I making so many typos lately?)
Anyway, Young Man, to answer your question: I hope not! I would say it depends on the nature of adm. processing; type of information and checks required, agencies involved and how quick they respond...and sure, it also depends on a person who handles the case and his/her workload and efficiency. All the things we have no control over.
Thanks aneri for the explanation. As a matter of fact the US Visa issuance has become a very topsy turvy matter, specially in Muslim Countries. And this is equally correct for both IV & NI Visas. Most of the applicants think that the people in the consulate throw the whole bunch of passports up in the air and those which land on one side of a previously drawn line are issued visas immediately and others are kept pending. This thing is repeated again the next day. That's why they always tell the applicant that they can not predict.
hi uncle how ru .i hope ur fine .every thing is fine here by the grace of allah and hope the same for u im still passing the time for my interview .what about ur case still on A/P.
