Thanks Proud, yep, I think this will be the last time my Dad visits, he is still doing good at the ripe age of 89, but has slowed down considerably since I left the UK. Apart from him forgetting to bring his hearing aid, and I am having to shout at him, things are going well LOL!!
I said to him yesterday that he will be here for fathers day, I suggested to him about going to 6 Flags LOL!!!!he said if he was 50 years younger he would have enjoyed it, altho the "depends" would not be strong enough if he went now. (Bless)
But he enjoyed the Cowboy Museum, and I plan on taking him to the local Pow Wow in June, among other things. And he just loves shopping in Walmart.
He loves all the cowboy and indian stuff.
Jake send me the info on that Pow Wow!please -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God Bless America - God Bless Immigrants - God Bless Poor Misguided Souls Too Mr S.U.

ok, im back. interview is over. well, they said they will send the letter in the mail if its approved, they didnt apporve right there, because she wanted to see the IAP-66 that i got with my J1 visa, which states if it was a two year residency requirement, my lawyer told them that with au pair program its not subject to...but anyway, so we had to sit outside for another 15 minutes, and then they called us to the window, and the supervisor was there too,,...they said that they will inform me in writing, we asked about the iap 66 that the intervier was concerned about, but they just brushed it off like its not even important anymore. so what i think is that they just want me to sweat another 2 months waiting for it. what do u guys think??????? oh FBI name check went through, so everything else is fine. and they didnt ask anything about us nothing at all. she did the paperwork and thats it. any thoughts?:-(

When you say the lawyer told them you're not subject to the 2 yr rule, how were they told? Was the lawyer present or was it a written statement from the attorney? Did they have things to look at? Pictures and things like that?
You voted democrat. This country is not worth sneaking into any more.

IAP-66 will tell them. Not all J visa holders are subject to the 2 year ban even if they are obtaining a graduate degree, scholar, etc.

my lawyer was present. i think the girl who was interwing us was unexperienced, couldn't be more than 22 years old.... and i know for a fact that im not subject to the 2 years recidency. i gave them everything else, replacement of J1 letter from embassy that i came here with I-94...she looked at the pictures...all of them actually but no questions ask. only where we met.

Just as Speed mentioned, keep checking online status, like I said before, my interview was on a Thursday, by the monday my online Status had changed to approved, I'm not saying yours will be the same, but it's worth checking every few days.

Hi bianca1: I had the exact situation when we did our AOS interview. I knew I wasn't subject to the 2 yr HRR but I'd forgotten to bring the IAP-66 form. I sent a copy off back to the adjudicating officer immediately we got back home. It was sorted out without a problem. There was a further delay but not related to this problem. As far as I understand it, anytime a J1 visa is issued and all or part of the finance is from a government source (US or home), they will issued it with the 2yr HHR. Mine wasn't because it was self-financed.
We voted Democrat. They'll be no need to sneak in anymore

thank you guys, im somewhat disappointed, because i was really hoping to get it today.:-( tehy didnt ask for my work permit, nothing really she looked really busy doing the paperwork. 2 questions she asked me when did i enter and what's the home phonenumber. As far as my husband, they asked him where did we meet and when after that. thats it!! i just emailed my au-pair in america program to see if they have a copy of it, because i dont and that i know, i lost my passport and everything in it, (why i would keep my IAP 66 in it, dont ask, but i guess it was in it because i cant find it anywhere else) so where can i get it if in case the au pair program doesnt have it???? and also them not asking so much is that a good thing or bad?? one more thing:-)they told us to sit outside for 15 minutes and when we went back to see her and the supervisor nobody mentioned the iap66 anyomore all they said i will get the result in a letter, not if they WANTED ME TO GET THAT PIECE OF PAPER, WHY DIDNT THEY ASK ME TO SUBMIT IT, SO WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO BASE THEIR DECISION NOW? ???? THANKS

Patience is a virtue Bianca. You will get it. Just have to have faith. I would wait at least ten days, ie 7 working days. There is a backlog in processing. In my wife's case, we got the letter in 30 days and the card 15 days after that. They did not even say we were approved or not, but we were both confident that we would be.
