Trolls can be existing members of a community that rarely post and often contribute no useful information to the thread, but instead make argumentative posts in an attempt to discredit another person, concentrating almost exclusively on facts irrelevant to the point of the conversation, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. The key element under attack by a troll is known only to the troll.
A troll's main goal is usually to arouse anger and frustration among the message board's other participants, and will write whatever it takes to achieve this end. One popular trolling strategy is the practice of Winning by Losing. While the victim is trying to put forward solid and convincing facts to prove his position, the troll's only goal is to infuriate its prey. The troll takes (what it knows to be) a badly flawed, wholly illogical argument, and then vigorously defends it while mocking and insulting its prey. The troll looks like a complete fool, but this is all part of the plan. The victim becomes noticeably angry by trying to repeatedly explain the flaws of the troll's argument. Provoking this anger was the troll's one and only goal from the very beginning.
It's useless, Whknapp. These trolls are going to be around no matter what tactics we take to get rid of them. It's best for everyone to ignore them. It's difficult, but ignoring them is taking the high road.
You're so right!. I won't be wasting my time anymore with these trolls. they're not worth it. By the way, I think you're a very honest and intelligent person. Just the opposite of what a troll is.
Whknapp, looking back at your posts you seem to be a very honest and intelligent person yourself (save some expletives here and there, which are understandable given the circumstances). It's better to see you around more often though, for some sort of balance on this board.

Thanks - and ditto to you! It's tough to ignore the 'haters', but in doing so, we are not feeding them the fuel they want. They are miserable, narrow-minded fools wearing blinders. Nothing is going to change them. So, our efforts are better spent elsewhere.
SunDevilUSA - you are one of the more polite protesters of illegals. My comments were geared toward people like Someone12, SonofMichael and such. Clearly, their posts do not generate anything positive. Just hateful remarks.
You went through the immigration process. I can understand your point of view when it comes to people illegally crossing our borders; however, if you'll do some more homework on why they are doing it, I think you'll become a bit more sympathetic - like I have. They want to work and there's no work in their countries. They can't support their wives, their kids - can't even afford to send them to school. That is generating more illiteracy in the world - and this is 2007! We need to think outside our nine dots and consider others who need help to succeed. So, perhaps if you can take a step back and rid yourself of the anger you feel, you'll be able to realize most of the people coming here illegally are only doing it because they have few other choices in life.
The haters as they are called have their place. If everyone just came here and congratulated each other on their beliefs this board would have faded into obscurity. Although it does arouse anger the side benefit is more dialog and more information. In the end the OP is usually given more to think about instead of just a pat on the head. I don't think anyone is foolish enough to completely fall for those antics. Terminator, Rocky, smelling like currie, Russian les bians, all ridiculous but everyone reads it. Along with it they saw what the post was really about. I don't condone it and I have been guilty of it too. But that is the price we pay for being here.

Those guys have had failed relationships resulting in anger and annoyance which is more detrimental to them than the things themselves which angered and annoyed them.
They're still trying to get it out of their system but can't accept it and move on.
The only haters and trolls are these guys; I am always 100 % Super nice and polite; even to the fraudsters and scamsters. You guys can not accept the fact that you get caught committing fraud against America and you sit here and cry cry cry. You celebrate terrorists acts and "ProudUSC" says "God Bless Terrorists" in everyone of his posts and expects us to remain quiet. This is America and if you can't handle a little debate and obey our laws then GET OUT !

I think he meant "waaa waaa" (like when illegals and their supporters whine)...and really folks, most postings from illegals or their braindead supporters can be summarized like this..
