As most of you know I am currently waiting for my Name check results for the past 5 months now AFTER aos interview and I have no idea how much more time this will take. Next year (June 05) I will have to visit my aging parents since it is been more then 3 years (will be 4 by then) now. So here is what I want to do.
1) Fax FBI a request for investigation on my Name 2) I will apply for advance parole 3) Contact a congressman or a Senator to handle my case.
Now questions are 1) Has anyone of you guys have got a response from the FBI after they received the fax? 2) Given the time line below and inspite of having a valid Advance Parole am I at risk of being denied re-entry in the US? 3) Do you guys think I should contact the Congressman/Senator after Nov 2 nd or before elections? As usual thank you so much for your valuable suggestions and comments I really appreciate it. Thank you.

I entered the US on Aug 10th 98 on F1 (Student visa) valid from July 30th 98 to Dec 31st 01 .I have renewed my EAD (work Permit) several times.

3rd Optional Practical Training from 07/18/01 ---07/18/02
AOS receipt date 07/25/02 filed in chicago
4th 9/20/2002 ---09/19/03
5 09/20/03 ----09/19/04
Finger printed for FBI/CIA -01/16/04 AOS interview 5/12/04
Currently awaiting Green card and work permit and living in philly.

When you called the FBI, did they give you any reason for the delay in clearing the FP?
