    Comment: Sweet Seventeen
The first issue of Immigration Daily was sent out on May 2, 2000 to about 800 subscribers. Over the last seventeen years, we have grown as the newspaper of record for immigration law to over 35,000 subscribers, including approximately 9,000 immigration lawyers. We reach a diverse audience, including paralegals, HR folks, in-house counsel, journalists and people in academia, think-tanks, etc. and also thousands of government employees at the federal and state levels, in all three branches - executive, judicial and legislative. Our single largest audience group is immigrants, over 15,000 of them. We pioneered the distribution of free information about immigration law and policy, leveraging the open platform of the internet to disseminate information on immigration matters. We are pleased to see that the free distribution of immigration information on the internet is now taken for granted by all.

We want to thank three particular groups of people who have been integral to our success. Firstly, we could not have made it here without hundreds of contributing authors - their participation alone shows that Immigration Daily serves a legitimate need of the immigration bar. Secondly, members of the immigration community throughout the country have consistently voted with hard-earned dollars to support our free publication by buying our products and services - without their sustained support Immigration Daily would not be possible. Finally, any publication ultimately derives its legitimacy as a viable and thriving medium from its readers. By continuing to vote with your mouse clicks every day, each and every one of you makes our daily efforts at our offices in New York City to bring you this periodical worthwhile. Thank you all!

Focus: International Students Expos in USA
International students are coming to the US in dramatically increased numbers. The explosion in Chinese, Indian and Korean students started less than a decade ago and continues. For EB-5 purposes students offer good prospects. We have been conducting events since 2014 educating students on EB-5 in New York, Washington DC, Massachusetts, Michigan and California. We are expanding these events to other locations in 2017 to cover the entire USA. For each city we promote the event to multiple campuses across the metropolitan region; this can vary from ten to twenty campuses per city. These are 1 day events that require a short single night stay trip from the sponsoring Regional Center or law firm. During the educational event covering the students' immigration options the sponsor makes a short presentation about their Regional Center or law firm. The event structure allows for plenty of networking opportunities with students. These events are available only to Regional Centers that use Regulation-D or to law firms, and we require clients to consult a securities attorney before signing up for these events.
