  • September 30 - Supreme Court to Rule on Clarity of Deportation Standard

Comment: Supreme Court to Rule on Clarity of Deportation Standard
The US Supreme Court granted the petition for a writ of certiorari in Lynch v. Dimayato. The court will decide whether part of "Crime of Violence" definition is unconstitutionally vague as held by the Ninth Circuit Court. The Ninth Circuit had argued that deportation standard needs to be clear especially given the harsh consequences of deportation, and because relief available in other criminal cases isn't available in case of deportation.

Today's issue of Immigration Daily also has items on Asylum for Children, Extension of Immigration Programs, New Form I-131-A, Passports, Liberian EADs, FY 2017 Refugee Admissions, and many Help Wanted Ads.

Please let us know your thoughts by writing to us at editor@ilw.com.
