  • August 19 - Pro-Immigration Politics

    Comment: Pro-Immigration Politics
In our sixteen plus years of publication, we have not supported or opposed a Presidential candidate. We believe that immigration is an integral part of America--we are pro-immigration and we are pro-America, this is a harmonious and complementary juxtaposition. Immigration Daily is neither Democratic nor Republican--just pro-immigration. We have supported pro-immigration policy and actions regardless of which side of the aisle pushed it, and have opposed anti-immigration policy and actions regardless of which party was championing it.

In most Presidential elections, immigration is a peripheral issue. This election is different. One of the Presidential candidates has made opposition to immigration the centerpiece and the leitmotif of his campaign. He used it relentlessly against those in his own party during the primaries, and now is using it against his opponent in general election. This anti-immigration position is profoundly opposed to the nature of America itself.

Despite the position that Mr. Trump's bellicose, intemperate and ghoulish comments compel us to take, we believe in open dialog. Those who oppose our position, especially those pro-immigration Republicans who disagree with us, are cordially invited to send us their criticism of our position at editor@ilw.com.
