  • Apr 15 - Second Statewide EB-5 Regional Center

Comment: Second Statewide EB-5 Regional Center
Detroit Free Press reports that Michigan became only the second state (after Vermont) to have a statewide EB-5 Regional Center approved.

"It will be a statewide center and work with potential development projects across the state," said Sara Wurfel, spokeswoman for Snyder… The center will work in conjunction with a new department he created - the Office for New Americans - to try to encourage foreign investment in Michigan as well as keeping foreign students who study and graduate from state universities to stay and work in the state… The stepped-up immigration efforts are expected to dovetail with the Michigan Economic Development Corp.'s trade missions around the globe, drumming up business for the state.
EB-5 program is a win-win for all concerned: job seekers, developers, immigrants, economy, governments etc. We wish the State of Michigan all the best in attracting foreign capital to revive its economy. Please let us know your thoughts by writing to us at editor@ilw.com.
