Comment: CIR Push After Fiscal Crisis
Reuters reports that President Obama has said that immigration reform would be his top priority after the current budget and debt ceiling crisis is behind us. In the past weeks, the political oxygen has been sucked out of immigration reform by a series of crises: Syria, surveillance revelations, budget battles etc. It is high time both the Democratic and Republican leaders get back on track and push the House to pass its own version of immigration reform, so that we get a statute by the end of the year.
