To coach the team that is in first place in Olympic Ice Dancing (short program today, free skate tomorrow), is a major accomplishment. To simultaneously be coaching the #2 team puts Marina Zueva up there with the most successful coaches in any sport. Americans Charlie White and Meryl Davis finished first Sunday and Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir finished a close second. They share coach Zueva who trains them in Michigan.

Zueva was an ice dancer herself in her native Russia and transitioned to choreography in the late 70s. She moved to Michigan in 1991 and has coached North American teams in the years since. She's also coached many of the top names in skating in both figure skating and ice dancing.
