Ah, those arts experts at our immigration agencies again managed to impress again tonight. The appalling requests for evidence and denials some of the country's most talented performers and athletes receive aren't enough. It seems like every time there is a major awards show, we learn that someone got hassled getting a visa or trying to get past CBP at the airport. Tonight's honoree was no other than Emmy recipient Abi Morgan, the writer of the superb BBC series The Hour. Apparently, the CBP officer thought she was a big liar when she claimed she was a nominee and coming to the awards ceremony. Because that's the kind of claim that people make to a border official when they're trying to enter the country. Yup.
