Comment: Explosive Regional Tier 3
Lot is changing in the Indian EB-5 market. 1) Explosive growth continues 2) Regional shift under way 3) Tier 3 cities come to fore (not Tier 2)

1) Market Growth: The market continues to grow at the rate of 100% per year. Unlike China, the Indian market is highly splintered. It is very difficult for anybody in India to have a national perspective, instead most Indian players understand only their regions within India. ILW is able to see the whole national picture for India.

2) Regional Market Shift: West India is holding its position relative to the national market. However, North Indian market is shrinking relatively though not absolutely, whereas South Indian market is exploding at 200% to 300% annualized.

3) Tier 3 Cities (not Tier 2): 18 months ago, Bombay and Delhi accounted for the lion's share of the Indian market--just as Shanghai and Beijing did in China in 2012. In China, the market spread to Tier 2 cities and then over several years to Tier 3 cities. The same is happening in India, but at a dramatically accelerated pace. Last year the EB-5 market spread to Tier 2 cities in India like Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore. In 2019, the market is spreading rapidly to Tier 3 cities in India. Consequently, the combined market share of Bombay and Delhi in the Indian market has fallen from 65% 18 months ago, to 35% today and is on its way down to 20% 18 months from now.
