Comment: Third House Republican Sponsors CIR
According to Roll Call, a third House Republican agreed to become a co-sponsor for a Democrat comprehensive immigration reform bill. Rep. David Valado (R-CA) joined Rep Jeff Denham (R-CA) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) as he signed on as co-sponsor to the bill sponsored by Rep. Joe Garcia (D-FL). Rep. Denham, who was the first of the Republicans to sign on as co-sponsor said about the reasoning behind signing on, "I mean basically because we have to do something. Just ignoring the problem is not a solution. Pushing it off for one more year is not a solution...They took the amendments that I asked them to take. Hard not to support a bill when they take the amendments you ask them to take". Share your thoughts by writing to
